Under Color Crochet

  All my faves: colorful fun, fringe, ruffle, scarf cakes, unicorn rope. Why do I keep doing this?!  😂 Nothing new here, just a simple mesh pattern with a few fun'zies. 😍  Color fun! 🤩 Fringe Fest!   A labor of love. I tried and tried, and tried again (and again, twice) to make this work. In two locations, three different geometries. A love-hate relationship. I had to give up. Let it go. I cannot make a Christmas tree out of my yarn. But I can keep dreaming. 😂 The good news is, I have a fantastic "yarn pile tree skirt scarf thing" here, and some day I may figure out how to actually use it as a yarn tree skirt. 😋 Christmas Tree Skirt I have a long love affair going with Christmas fun! 😍 And it's only December 1st right now, stay tuned.       Aw! This makes me so happy: my dearest cousin, Cathy, opening boxes from me. 😍 I sent a few small boxes of my simple stuff, just the usual colorful creations that I love making. And I love it even more when those creative crochet pieces go to a good home. 😎 Free-To-Good-Home could be the title of this blog, instead of Under Color Crochet. 😁 Because all of my crochet items are donated to friends, family, and organizations that can best make use of them. And Cathy is using them to cheer, warm, and inspire her students! I am absolutely thrilled about that. 🤩 In the snapshot above, Cathy has just opened the box with the gray sister of Sister Shawls .   And below, she is opening the box that contains one of the two Devil'icious pieces. Nuthin' new here, just my same old, easy'peasy fave thing to do. 😄 Simple mesh pattern , with a little bit of bling and flair: fringe on one piece, a bit of ruffle on the other piece. And with the leftovers , I did my other lil'fave number, another starting chain piece, this time with a cute pom 'fringe'dangly bit on each end. Way too much fun. 😎   This was a new yarn for me, and wow! Fancy. Love the look and feel of it, gorgeous texture, great color. I will definitely be getting more of this, and I didn't even mind paying full price. 😁 The wool-mohair blend is now my new fave. I bought this yarn at a local sewing shop, Stitcher's Garden. They don't have a big yarn selection, since they focus on sewing. I still love going in there, because it's a place I know Mom would love.  😍  I found their little yarn section, and they had these two gems (above), in Fuchsia and Rosy Velvet, so I snagged'em.   Look how fantastic this is with my jean jacke...

Too much devil'ish fun? Never! With a color scheme of "Coral Stripes," and fluffy fringe of "Pink Poodle," this delightfully devil'icious piece is my new fave of faves. And, it actually had an encore. I made a second piece just like it, only bigger. With more Pink Poodle. Because more is more. 😎 Here is a folder of photos showing how much fun I had making (and posing 🤩) these two sweet pieces of pink poodle'icious'ness: Devil'icious.   Nothing fancy here, just the same easy peasy pattern that I love copying ( simple mesh scarf ), because I can do it with my eyes closed. 😃 For the main body, I used yarn (above) that I got on clearance. So colorful, caught my eye right away, Coral Stripes color scheme. For the edging and fringe, I used yarn (below) that I got on sale. So luxuriously fluffy! I simply could not resist, and with a name like Pink Poodle, what is a bling-loving gal to do? 🤩 I'm obsessed with the fluffy luxury of Go For Faux! ...

  These two sweet pieces have so much in common - and they are so entirely different from each other. I had to call them Sister Shawls. 😁 Like these two shawls, my sister and I had a lot in common, and we were completely opposite on so many things. Aw, Cindy, my big sis, I miss you. 😍  I think Cindy would have liked both of these shawls. They are the exact same pattern, but two totally different yarns. The gray yarn is a bulky weight chenille, so soft and luxurious, it is absolutely dreamy to wear. It also has a beautiful sheen that makes this luscious color anything but dull gray. The pale turquoise colored yarn is extra fine weight, and actually kind of hard to work with, it's so fine. Take a look at how delicate it is:  This is my favorite "Summer Nights" yarn, that I usually work with three strands at a time. But I decided, for once, I would work with just the one strand, because I wanted the lace look. It was slow going, very slow to work up. But, so absolutely wor...

This blue'n'white quartet combo makes me so happy. 😍 I had way too much colorful fun working in just these simple hues. Here's a photo album, Shapes of Capes , full of proof that I enjoy this too much. 😁 I have a long term love affair going with blues: Blue Moon , Two Blue , Blue and Blue . And with whites: Snow Day  (when it's all about pure vanilla'ness),  Candy Snow , and  Fireworks Cake Volcano Circus  (when it just needs a dramatic touch of white contrast).  I absolutely love the shapes of these capes. 🤩 The blue cape is made with extra fine weight yarn, with a touch of sparkle. And the white cape (more of a shawl, really, but kinda cape'y, too 😎) is made with a bulky weight chenille that feels like warm cloud. Two completely different textures, but one feel of love from me for both. 😍 The blue cape turned out so shapely because of the three strands of extra fine yarn, all worked together simultaneously.
