Under Color Crochet

  These two sweet pieces have so much in common - and they are so entirely different from each other. I had to call them Sister Shawls. 😁 Like these two shawls, my sister and I had a lot in common, and we were completely opposite on so many things. Aw, Cindy, my big sis, I miss you. 😍  I think Cindy would have liked both of these shawls. They are the exact same pattern, but two totally different yarns. The gray yarn is a bulky weight chenille, so soft and luxurious, it is absolutely dreamy to wear. It also has a beautiful sheen that makes this luscious color anything but dull gray. The pale turquoise colored yarn is extra fine weight, and actually kind of hard to work with, it's so fine.   Love this delightful gift from my niece, Inara! 😍 It is not crochet, but it deserves a post here, because this sweet piece is super special on so many levels. First of all, Inara is technically not my niece. 😁 But, she calls me Aunt Becky, and I do love that. For all the kids who are not my nieces and nephews  (they're my dozens of cousins' kids, mostly 😎)  who've been calling me Aunt Becky since I can remember, I feel that special love. Extended family is a rare blend of extra family on top of more family. 💑💖   Inara is the daughter of my brother's in-laws, so she is Frank's niece by marriage. It has been over a decade since Frank's wife passed away, and he is still close with his in-laws. Still family. That is special beyond words, and I'm richly blessed and deeply grateful to be a little part of that. Yummy yarn from Yarned & Dangerous plus my fave easy peasy pattern equals a quartet of cuties that worked up fast and fun. This chenille yarn is so luxurious and lovely, I am delighted with the look and feel of it. It has just enough bulk to be winter worthy, but still has a light-as-air fluffiness about it. Dee-lish-us! 😍 I have a long history of loving the luxury of chenille yarn. For example, Unicorn Camouflage is pastel perfection with chenille softness, while  Snow Day  combines multiple textures along with gorgeous chenille. Other texture combinations with chenille are featured in G.I.   This fun bunch makes for two "Princess Party" posts in a row now, after Purple Princess Party.  And it isn't the first time there has been too much fun going on: there was a  Costume Party , and we had an  Office Party , and don't forget my fave  Pillow Party . So this newest collection is a quintet of peach'y pink pieces that honors a party tradition going way back. A tradition that is now moving forward to a future of more flouncy fun. 😍 Too fluffy? No way. Too many frills? Never. Texture combinations gone wild? Yes, obviously. And what of it? 😎  Too much fringe? Well... maybe.  😁 But, fringe is just so fun! I couldn't stop. 🤩 All five of these fun pieces worked up fast and easy. No fancy stitch work here, just the same simple mesh pattern that I've been playing with for years (as explained in the original post ).
