Blue and Blue

This sparkling beautiful blue piece was such a labor of love, whew! I broke up with it multiple times, but we always got back together. 😍 My on-again off-again relationship with this piece (above) was so dramatic, I had to move on to a similarly colored piece (below), but with double the strands. 😎   Both pieces are alternating rows of single crochet and   triple crochet stitch, in super fine weight yarn. That makes for slow going. With this lacey yarn, it takes a long time to work up any amount. And it is so worth it! 😍 This yarn (above) is called Amazing Lace, and the two colors here are Cobalt Butterfly (right) and Turquoise Shell (left). Fantastic names for fantastic colors! I absolutely love how they look together. In certain light, they almost look like the same color. But then in other light, they are clearly so different. Two blues, too fabulous! 🤩 This yarn (above) is called Summer Nights, and the color scheme is "Cast Away." Great name for these beautiful, bree...

Blue Christmas

I love blue! My love affair with blue goes way back: Blue Jean Baby , Winter Blues , Two Blue , Blue Moon . I can't stop lovin' blue. 😎 More and more, and more of the same. But different. Fluffy ruffle, colorful fringe, sparkle and texture. Deep blue, so deep, it is almost black in certain light. Pale blue, so pale, it could be mistaken for white. Love these contrasts!  So many blues, so little time. 😎My list of blue love goes on and on:  Turquoise Blue , Neptune's Beard ,  Earth and Mars ,  Sea Shine , Winter Mint . I love how one blue piled up on a different blue and wrapped around another blue is all a new kind of blue. 😁 Snuggle up with blue! 😍 The faux fur in pale blue looks so pale, it could almost be mistaken for white. So, I had to take a picture of it with a ball of white chenille on it, to prove that it is actually a teeny bit blue. 🤩 I am so intrigued by the asymmetrical shape of this scarf. Some call it a "potato chip" pattern, because of ho...

Turquoise Blue

Fine (for the body of the scarf) and extra fine (for the ruffle) are the weights of the yarns used in this lovely piece. There is a lot of yarn in this scarf, and it worked up very slowly. Worth it! The final result is deliciously delicate and so airy, it feels barely there around the neck.😎 The body of the scarf is all double crochet stitches, and the ruffle is four treble crochet stitches in every base stitch. I have to admit, sometimes I'd stuff one more treble crochet stitch in the ruffle, for a quintet! Every third or fourth base stitch, or so, I'd add that extra in there, for varied texture in the ruffle. Just having fun.😍 A yarn called "Beautiful You" (now discontinued, sad face) provided wonderful texture to the body, in a color the company called "Capri," but what I love calling turquoise blue. The ruffle is made of a yarn called "Amazing Lace" (also now discontinued, more sad face) in a color the company called "Turquoise Shell....
