Under Color Crochet

  I absolutely love these sweet pieces!    😍   They are all the same basic pattern of repeating shell stitches, which I learned from watching this 10-minute video . That easy 10 minutes turned into hours and hours of relaxing, creative, colorful fun. 😎 And, o nce again, thanks Yarned & Dangerous , for the fantastic yarn.   In this quartet of sweet shawls there are actually only three that are small (and multicolored). The fourth one is quite large (and pure purple!), and all of them are completely gorgeous. 🤩 That is one of the cool things about this pattern - you can keep going and going, to make it as large as you want.   Love this delightful gift from my niece, Inara! 😍 It is not crochet, but it deserves a post here, because this sweet piece is super special on so many levels. First of all, Inara is technically not my niece. 😁 But, she calls me Aunt Becky, and I do love that. For all the kids who are not my nieces and nephews  (they're my dozens of cousins' kids, mostly 😎)  who've been calling me Aunt Becky since I can remember, I feel that special love.   These four pieces are way too much girly fun. 😎 I loved making this set, all my fave easy frills. Ruffle, fringe, fluff, faux fur, purple, and more purple. This pile just needs a princess. Or a costume party. 🤩 These pieces don't stack well...or do they?! 😍 All the ruffles keep getting in the way of a straight fold. But never mind that. Who needs an even fold when things can pile up so pretty? Plus, these pieces look lovely just scattered about. That's perfect for lazy princesses. 😁 I had too much fun posing these pieces. I made this trio for a co-worker's going away party. So sad to see her go, but so happy for her career upgrade. 🤩 I love her dearly, she trained me on everything, and I can hardly imagine the office without her. But, I know she is going to be awesome in her new position (coaching volleyball!) and I am going to have to move forward without her. 😎 When my co-worker told me her three favorite colors were red, black, and purple - I knew exactly what I needed to do! No mixing, but plenty of matching. Who says bold colors clash?! Certainly not me! I had to make a trio of those bold colors, just to prove you can layer anything over and under anything else, when they are all fabulous. 😎  Nothing fancy here, just the plain old usual: rectangular scarves, mesh pattern, fringe and ruffle.   This is not your grandfather's camouflage! 😋 Or is it? 😁 I absolutely loved making this sweet piece, and it is comfy cozy enough for any grandfather to appreciate. Plus, those soft colors are perfect for grandpappy dreaming. Even softer: the chenille yarn is positively luxurious! And so fun to work with, I love how it feels so fluffy and works up so fast. The yarn company calls this yarn "Naptime," and that is a perfect label for chenille. It has a medium weight given, but I feel like it borders on light weight. Each strand is quite thin by itself, and that can be beautiful. For example: Hippie Fringe , Clouds and Sunshine,   Sage and Sand .  And a beautiful bonus of Sage and Sand: New Orleans Winter . But this time, I wanted something a bit more bulky. So, I combined four strands at once, each a different color. And, yay!!
