Pinky'n'Pinkier

Image
One strand of this superfine weight yarn is hard to work with, but FOUR strands all at once is fun with fine'ness! 😎 This yarn, called "Amazing Lace," is now discontinued (sad face!), but I still have plenty leftover. I bought way too much of it many moons ago, on sale, and I don't regret it. 😁 I love these two colors, raspberry and periwinkle. I summarize this as "pinkish and pink'ness," or "pinky'n'pinkier." For "oh, so many more" photos of this super fun with superfine, check out this folder of too many pink pics: Pinky'n'Pinkier.   😋 Pink and more pink looks great with my jean jacket! 😎 Love, love, love this texture! The superfine yarn makes it so very soft, while the four strands of it all working together make it super cozy and warm. Freaky Fringe! The superfine weight of this yarn means that static electricity is definitely a factor in how it moves and grooves. 😎 It stuck to the wall like groovy croch...

Snazzy-berry Soda

Lots'a fringe, plenty'a ruffle, and a bunch'a colors! Nothing new here in the design. This is the same pattern I love doing, because it feels good, looks great, and always turns out perfect. There's so much to love here, and it reminds me of a fizzy ice cream soda, berry-full of fun and flavor. That's why I had to give it such a silly name. 😍 This piece looks great all by itself, like a road to ruffle.  And it looks super cool with my winter coat. I had way too much fun posing this piece. Love the textures! The yarn company called this color scheme "Cloud Nine," and while I do like that name, I just had to rename it. Because "snazzy-berry" captures the essence of those raspberry-purple and blackberry-blue colors, while "soda" gives you that sense of vanilla ice cream in there somewhere. Delicious! 😎 Multi-colors + Fringe + Ruffle = Crochet Fun

Sunrise Sherbet

So fun! I always love crocheting with bulky weight yarn. It works up fast and easy. It makes me feel productive. Even when all I'm doing is jus'chillin'😎 and hanging out doin' my fave hobby.🤩 Each one of these pieces is actually just half a scarf, which makes for a cute quartet of colors. A slightly different pattern for each one, all the same shape, and varying lengths. They're sisters in a set of a sunrise color scheme, and I absolutely adore the look and feel of the whole project.   This bulky weight, ribbed texture yarn is now discontinued. Darn! I bought four skeins of it last year, with exactly this kind of project in mind. I imagined a slightly different piece in each color, but all with the same general theme. Line them up, and see how it looks. Now I wish I had purchased more! I wasn't sure if I'd like working with that ribbed texture, so I thought I'd just whip out mini-scarves, in different stitches, and see what happens. Of course it all tu...

Raspberry Lace

Image
Scarf selfie! It's a scarfie. 😎  I absolutely love the look and feel of this lacey piece. It drapes perfectly, looks like a royal garment, and is deliciously comfy around the neck. Of course, this is not actual lace, and that is one of the interesting things I learned about while working on this piece. The history of lace is a fascinating read, and I've barely started to explore the basics. Thanks, internet! 😁  I have enough of this yarn to make a dozen more lacey lovlies like this, in several colors. But... I'm going to wait a while before I work with this yarn again. Winter time static electricty made it difficult to handle this yarn! Can you believe that?! The weight of this fiber is superfine, and right now static electricity is enough to move it right off your finger tips. Sheesh. Crochet problems. 😅 It's interesting to try and get a sense of scale with this piece. All bunched up in the palm of my hand, it barely feels like anything is there. This scarf used u...
