Under Color Crochet

Too much devil'ish fun? Never! With a color scheme of "Coral Stripes," and fluffy fringe of "Pink Poodle," this delightfully devil'icious piece is my new fave of faves. And, it actually had an encore. I made a second piece just like it, only bigger. With more Pink Poodle. Because more is more. 😎 Here is a folder of photos showing how much fun I had making (and posing 🤩) these two sweet pieces of pink poodle'icious'ness: Devil'icious.   Nothing fancy here, just the same easy peasy pattern that I love copying ( simple mesh scarf ), because I can do it with my eyes closed. 😃 For the main body, I used yarn (above) that I got on clearance. So colorful, caught my eye right away, Coral Stripes color scheme. For the edging and fringe, I used yarn (below) that I got on sale. So luxuriously fluffy!   Wild'n'wacky color combinations like this are not just for hippies who like ruffles. These are also perfect for any bohemian, beatnik, and flower child who likes fluffy pillows. I had way too much fun making these far out pieces, and I would make more - except this yarn (Mandala Fluffy) has been discontinued. Ah, well, that's probably for the best.  😁 The pink-and-orange color scheme is called "Zebra Lionfish" and the purple-and-aqua color scheme is "Scorpionfish." Great names! Can't go wrong with color schemes based on tropical fish. 🤩 This yarn is a super bulky weight, also sometimes called jumbo. Very easy to handle, and it works up so fast, it's practically begging you to keep working it. 😎  I used a size J crochet hook, and it flowed right along smoothly.   What colorful fun! The super bulky weight yarns of this piece worked up so fast and easy, I had time for an afternoon margarita. I was exploring ideas for a circular pattern, because I have a few other fun things in mind for upcoming projects. Before I knew it, this poncho just kind of started creating itself.  The body of this poncho was made with five cakes of "Thick and Quick" in the color scheme of Pinwheel. Plus, there are two cakes of "Mandala Fluffy" in the trim. So, with seven cakes in this piece, it is comfortably heavy. This poncho might look sunny and bright, but it is perfect for cold weather.  One fluffy trim is the color scheme of Mermaid and the other is Jellyfish. Love all those clever names!   Love those muted blues and grays complementing that electric green! The yarn company called this color scheme "Garden Maze," and that is a lovely name. But it just didn't quite work for me, so I decided to call this exactly what it reminds me of - a snake! This scarf is so big, bulky, and heavy... it is more anaconda than garter snake. Ah, but those amazing colors! They have a sweetness about their combination that says friendly Garter Snake.    The body of the scarf is row after row of single crochet, a super easy pattern that shows off the stitch detail. It holds its shape firmly, and is surprisingly soft. The category of yarn is "Thick & Quick," and I was worried at first that it might make an itchy, rough scarf. It looks so heavy and coarse.
