Under Color Crochet

  I can't stop doing this. My favorite pattern , simplified (no fringe, no tassels, just one solid color), and slightly modified (tc instead of dc). Wow! So gorgeous and huge and amazing, I love it! Big Pink Shawl The tc stitches all the way around opened it up so much, I don't even know what to call it... big beast of holes? see-through giant? flimsy pink monster? It doesn't matter. It is too fabulous for words. 😆  It is difficult to get a sense of how big this thing is. This helps- putting my jean jacket in the middle of it: It is so lace-like and delicate, except it isn't. The yarn is good solid cotton, and the whole thing is sturdy, even kind of hefty. But not exactly warm weather wear, too many holes. And not exactly for cool weather, just too heavy. I don't know what to do with it. Why did I even make this? Again. 😂 Because of that tc all the way, this piece worked up fast and easy. This pretty pink piece is the perfect friend for Whimsical Witch . I had way too much fun posing the pink. Too much devil'ish fun? Never! With a color scheme of "Coral Stripes," and fluffy fringe of "Pink Poodle," this delightfully devil'icious piece is my new fave of faves. And, it actually had an encore. I made a second piece just like it, only bigger. With more Pink Poodle.   Love this delightful gift from my niece, Inara! 😍 It is not crochet, but it deserves a post here, because this sweet piece is super special on so many levels. First of all, Inara is technically not my niece. 😁 But, she calls me Aunt Becky, and I do love that. For all the kids who are not my nieces and nephews  (they're my dozens of cousins' kids, mostly 😎)  who've been calling me Aunt Becky since I can remember, I feel that special love. Extended family is a rare blend of extra family on top of more family. 💑💖   Inara is the daughter of my brother's in-laws, so she is Frank's niece by marriage. It has been over a decade since Frank's wife passed away, and he is still close with his in-laws. Still family. That is special beyond words, and I'm richly blessed and deeply grateful to be a little part of that.   One strand of this superfine weight yarn is hard to work with, but FOUR strands all at once is fun with fine'ness! 😎 This yarn, called "Amazing Lace," is now discontinued (sad face!), but I still have plenty leftover. I bought way too much of it many moons ago, on sale, and I don't regret it. 😁 I love these two colors, raspberry and periwinkle. I summarize this as "pinkish and pink'ness," or "pinky'n'pinkier."   This fun bunch makes for two "Princess Party" posts in a row now, after Purple Princess Party.  And it isn't the first time there has been too much fun going on: there was a  Costume Party , and we had an  Office Party , and don't forget my fave  Pillow Party . So this newest collection is a quintet of peach'y pink pieces that honors a party tradition going way back. A tradition that is now moving forward to a future of more flouncy fun. 😍 Too fluffy? No way. Too many frills? Never. Texture combinations gone wild? Yes, obviously. And what of it? 😎  Too much fringe? Well... maybe.  😁 But, fringe is just so fun!
