Clouds and Sunshine

I love the look and feel of chenille. So soft and comfy, it makes the perfect scarf. I added edging, ruffles, and fringe using several other categories of yarn. That made for a fun mix of cozy comfort. The Sunshine scarf turned out quite loose and floppy, while the Clouds scarf is more tightly bound. Both feel great wrapped around the neck, layered on the lap, or just bundled up to snuggle. I have two N sized crochet hooks, but they are slightly different. One is the standard N, and the other is a slightly larger N/15. It is just a millimeter difference between the two hooks, but it definitely made a big difference in the look and feel of the two scarves. I used the 10 mm hook on the Sunshine scarf, and the 9 mm hook on the Clouds scarf. The yarn I used for this project came in cakes of "Ice Cream Deluxe" with a color scheme called "Silver Sands." That is a super cool name...and I do love a good pairing of contrasting colors... But... 😎 I had no problem breaking up

Cupcake Sprinkles

Sweet and simple! This lovely little lollipop was so fun to make, I can easily create a dozen more just like it. One cake of this twisty, curvy yarn whipped up the perfect scarf in a just a few hours of easy crochet. A simple mesh pattern, without any frills. Because it is already so full of color and texture, I just kept it that simple. There is enough fuzzy fun here to play with, no need for trim... Ah, but just imagine if I started adding some extra edging... Just a teeny bit of fluffy fringe...One little ruffle...  Yes, then it would be delightful indeed! I just might have to do all that on the next round of easy pieces. Hmm, but then they wouldn't be easy pieces, they'd be fancy upgrades!  😍 Just look at this texture! I love it.  This was the first time I worked with this category of yarn. It is a bulky weight blend of acrylic and polyester, that looks oddly rough at first glance  (the yarn company calls this category "Homespun Stripes"). Ah, but this yarn  is

Exoplanet

Out of this world! Indeed, out of the solar system. This piece is such an exotic mix of colors, I had to name it Exoplanet. Like, the impossible made real. I don't think I would have ever combined these colors myself, but I cheerfully accept that the yarn company did. 😎 They called this color scheme "Rain Forest," and while I do love the idea of that name being a color scheme... it just doesn't seem to match this particular set of colors. I decided to call this piece Exoplanet because I'm seeing a color scheme that requires an open mind, some imagination, and a whole'lotta creative thinking. And actually, the more I looked at it, and the bigger it got... and then I added a ruffle in two more colors... I decided even Exoplanet doesn't quite capture it all. This color scheme is more like: if Genghis Khan needed a cloak to wear for a Dia de Muertos festival on Kepler-1649c, then yea. This is the color scheme for that cloak. So, Exoplanet. Too long? Not if
