Small Shawls

I absolutely love these sweet pieces!    😍   They are all the same basic pattern of repeating shell stitches, which I learned from watching this 10-minute video . That easy 10 minutes turned into hours and hours of relaxing, creative, colorful fun. 😎 And, o nce again, thanks Yarned & Dangerous , for the fantastic yarn.   In this quartet of sweet shawls there are actually only three that are small (and multicolored). The fourth one is quite large (and pure purple!), and all of them are completely gorgeous. 🤩 That is one of the cool things about this pattern - you can keep going and going, to make it as large as you want. Or you can stop sooner and make it nice and small. Here's a whole folder of way too many pics, showing how much fun I had with this quartet: Small Shawls . It was because of a fantastic fashion show that I was inspired to make the large purple shawl (above). There was a gathering of local fiber artists, and I fell completely in love with this amazing piec

I absolutely love this fun'n'friendly bag pattern that my Crochet_Nerd_Girlfriend, Trisha, gave me! 😎 The original pattern has asymmetrical handles (see below for Trisha's perfect version), but I modified mine with the skinny straps you see above. I combined two skeins, one pure white and one a "flower garden" color scheme (thanks,  Yarned & Dangerous ), to make it nice'n'sturdy. And this easy breeze'y pattern is so easy-peas'y because it just goes round'n'round. Here's what that looks like:   No turning after each row, just keep going, and it builds all the way up, to whatever height you want to make it. As in: Folder of Colorful Fun . I am so into this pattern, I kept going and going, and just ended up going crazy. 😍 It's the good kinda' crazy. 😁 Next up is a set of 4 pictures that Trisha sent me, of her work and her work-in-progress. Check this out: Just look at how cool those asymmetrical handles are! First, she did a

I love this sweet beast of a piece! 😍 Granny Squares Galore? Godzilla Granny ...  It was difficult to decide what to call this gorgeous monster. 🤩 And it is impossible to get a sense of scale from the photo above . Don't be fooled by the cute poms, and the candy colors. No little baby blankets here, this thing is as big as The Beast . 😎 To get a good look at how big it actually is, I tried draping it over a chair ... but that just made it look like a piled up crash site, with poms and ruffles. 😂   So, I tried giving it scale by arranging it on the couch. But that didn't really work either, because now it just looks like a train wreck . With poms and ruffles. 😆 I absolutely loved making this friendly monster. Here's a photo album of the process ,  including several delightful poses, plus me sitting on the couch. 😁  All the yarn for this piece was actually a kit. But, I ended up not doing the kit piece. I just did my own easy granny square collection. 😎 Then,

What's a gal gonna do with one bag and two bins full of leftover yarn? 😁 Scrappy projects and trashy treasures! 🤩 In the photo above, t hat's three year's worth of bits and pieces. Yes, it's been three years since the last time I posted about this love of mine: Colorful Leftovers . So, this makes it a regular routine now. 😎 So many fun projects in these bags and bins, so much love and color. 😍 All those crochet items, long gone now, but never forgotten. Free to good homes. And so many more on the way.  I love making scrappy poms (above)! I don't like them tight and fluffy, but you can easily trim these and make them that way. I prefer this loose and floppy look, because it reminds me of a cute cartoon character, or an adorable sea creature. Maybe a hybrid combination of cartoons, creatures, and characters. 😄 Here's a whole folder with pictures of how cute these colorful critters look, plus several shots of the easy process to make one: Scruffy Poms Anot

Love this delightful gift from my niece, Inara! 😍 It is not crochet, but it deserves a post here, because this sweet piece is super special on so many levels. First of all, Inara is technically not my niece. 😁 But, she calls me Aunt Becky, and I do love that. For all the kids who are not my nieces and nephews  (they're my dozens of cousins' kids, mostly 😎)  who've been calling me Aunt Becky since I can remember, I feel that special love. Extended family is a rare blend of extra family on top of more family. 💑💖   Inara is the daughter of my brother's in-laws, so she is Frank's niece by marriage. It has been over a decade since Frank's wife passed away, and he is still close with his in-laws. Still family. That is special beyond words, and I'm richly blessed and deeply grateful to be a little part of that. Secondly, this sweet piece is so special, because look at all that fringe! 🤩 Inara has been my little crochet buddy for several years now. She first
