Sunny Style

Image
Feeling mellow with yellow! I heart all the combinations in this sunny trio. So many good things here, with chenille, tape, boucle, and twisted cotton yarns all adding to the vibe. Too much texture? Never! 😎 Clashing yellows? Yes, and I love it. 😋 I loved creating each one of these lovely ladies, and then I had way too much fun posing them. 😘   I love how snazzy each one looks when paired with my jean jacket!😎 This trio is a variation on a sunny tradition I'd like to keep going. Around this same time last year, I created a similarly themed pair of pieces: Clouds and Sunshine . Next year, I might just have to up my game, and create a quartet for the weather. 😎 Fringe fest! 😍 I heart this little solar system of leftovers! 😎 A closer look at the sunny warmth of all those textures. 😎 Sunny Colors + Multi-Textures = Creative Crochet

Turquoise Blue

Fine (for the body of the scarf) and extra fine (for the ruffle) are the weights of the yarns used in this lovely piece. There is a lot of yarn in this scarf, and it worked up very slowly. Worth it! The final result is deliciously delicate and so airy, it feels barely there around the neck.😎 The body of the scarf is all double crochet stitches, and the ruffle is four treble crochet stitches in every base stitch. I have to admit, sometimes I'd stuff one more treble crochet stitch in the ruffle, for a quintet! Every third or fourth base stitch, or so, I'd add that extra in there, for varied texture in the ruffle. Just having fun.😍 A yarn called "Beautiful You" (now discontinued, sad face) provided wonderful texture to the body, in a color the company called "Capri," but what I love calling turquoise blue. The ruffle is made of a yarn called "Amazing Lace" (also now discontinued, more sad face) in a color the company called "Turquoise Shell.&

Snaggle-palooza

This yarn snagged so much, I almost gave up after one row. I lotion'ed up twice, but still it snagged on every stitch. Frustrating, but I didn't want to give up on it. The texture of this yarn is so elastic and fun, I wanted to love it. I kept trying to love it. I bought five skeins of it on sale (it is now discontinued), in a super fun variety of color schemes. I still have these four left for future projects, but I'm not sure if I want to work with this snaggy yarn again. This yarn is a medium weight nylon fiber called "Rebound," which I thought was going to be smooth and spring'y. Well, it is kinda smooth, and it does have a fun springiness to it. But there is something about its texture that causes continuous snagging in every direction. Still, I don't want to give up on it yet, and I might figure out some other way to work with it down the road. 😁 This snaggly piece looks so cool, just hanging out. And I had to chuckle, it kept snagging on the wood
