Itty Bitty Knitty

Love this delightful gift from my niece, Inara! 😍 It is not crochet, but it deserves a post here, because this sweet piece is super special on so many levels. First of all, Inara is technically not my niece. 😁 But, she calls me Aunt Becky, and I do love that. For all the kids who are not my nieces and nephews  (they're my dozens of cousins' kids, mostly 😎)  who've been calling me Aunt Becky since I can remember, I feel that special love. Extended family is a rare blend of extra family on top of more family. 💑💖   Inara is the daughter of my brother's in-laws, so she is Frank's niece by marriage. It has been over a decade since Frank's wife passed away, and he is still close with his in-laws. Still family. That is special beyond words, and I'm richly blessed and deeply grateful to be a little part of that. Secondly, this sweet piece is so special, because look at all that fringe! 🤩 Inara has been my little crochet buddy for several years now. She first...

Sunny One

This piece has the look and feel of a warm sunny day in January. 🤩 Nuthin' fancy, nuthin' new here. Just the same easy rectangle that I love making. Same simple mesh pattern (click here to see the steps) . Can't say it's very special, this one single piece... aw, but look at it! Super sunny special. 🌞 I love how soft and sweet it is, the yarn is perfectly named "So Soft." Plus it has a subtle sheen that makes it look like an actual ray of sunshine.  I love how it keeps changing color, depending on the lighting and background. My phone camera sometimes couldn't decide where to go with this yellow, I had to chuckle when I watched it adjust itself to the color each time. Sometimes buttery golden, sometimes more lemony yellow, sometimes almost orange'ish-but-not-quite. This color is so full and yet still cozy, it says complex. Ah, makes me think of fine wine. Hmm, sounds good right about now. 🤩 The yarn company calls this color "Saffron," and...

Feeling mellow with yellow! I heart all the combinations in this sunny trio. So many good things here, with chenille, tape, boucle, and twisted cotton yarns all adding to the vibe. Too much texture? Never! 😎 Clashing yellows? Yes, and I love it. 😋 I loved creating each one of these lovely ladies, and then I had way too much fun posing them. 😘   I love how snazzy each one looks when paired with my jean jacket!😎 This trio is a variation on a sunny tradition I'd like to keep going. Around this same time last year, I created a similarly themed pair of pieces: Clouds and Sunshine . Next year, I might just have to up my game, and create a quartet for the weather. 😎 Fringe fest! 😍 I heart this little solar system of leftovers! 😎 A closer look at the sunny warmth of all those textures. 😎 Sunny Colors + Multi-Textures = Creative Crochet
