Nuthin' new here, just my same old, easy'peasy fave thing to do. 😄 Simple mesh pattern, with a little bit of bling and flair: fringe on one piece, a bit of ruffle on the other piece. And with the leftovers, I did my other lil'fave number, another starting chain piece, this time with a cute pom'fringe'dangly bit on each end. Way too much fun. 😎
 

This was a new yarn for me, and wow! Fancy. Love the look and feel of it, gorgeous texture, great color. I will definitely be getting more of this, and I didn't even mind paying full price. 😁 The wool-mohair blend is now my new fave. I bought this yarn at a local sewing shop, Stitcher's Garden. They don't have a big yarn selection, since they focus on sewing. I still love going in there, because it's a place I know Mom would love. 😍 I found their little yarn section, and they had these two gems (above), in Fuchsia and Rosy Velvet, so I snagged'em. 


Look how fantastic this is with my jean jacket! 🤩


Love the luxurious texture of this yummy yarn. 😍

This beautiful beast was inspired by Inara, my brother’s niece by marriage. She calls me “Aunt Becky,” even though I'm not actually her aunt in any legal or blood way. Oh, how I love the sound of her sweet voice saying a label that I’ve hardly earned. Extended family is so special, it’s hard to describe, and harder still to explain to people who don’t have as much as we do. Frank’s in-laws became part of my extended family, along with our 22 first cousins (some of whom are almost like siblings to us), and their 45 kids (many of whom are like nieces and nephews to us), all of which I delight in using to confuse my students.   This sweet piece is my first public showing! 🤩 In the Visitor's Center office  😄 on the  first floor of the CSUP Library! 😎 I'm pretty sure this officially makes me a crochet artist now.   🤔  With my work on display for all the people to see.  😍   I can't stop grinnin'.  😁   There is a happy backstory to this colorful yarn. It is the "free to good home" kind of yarn.   😄 Kenny, one of our university librarians, keeps a lost-and-found assortment of items on a shelf behind the front desk. He called me over one morning and handed this odd ball to me! 😋 It was rather rumpled -  loose'ish and a teeny bit unraveled, and had no label on it. But otherwise perfectly good. Clean, brand new , just lost. Needing a good home. Well, it found one! 😍 Of course, I gladly accepted this little Christmas gift , because I knew immediately what I needed to do - make something sweet and bring it BACK to the library for decoration. 😎 Aw, look how fantasti

"Unboxing Becky"

      Aw! This makes me so happy: my dearest cousin, Cathy, opening boxes from me. 😍 I sent a few small boxes of my simple stuff, just the usual colorful creations that I love making. And I love it even more when those creative crochet pieces go to a good home. 😎 Free-To-Good-Home could be the title of this blog, instead of Under Color Crochet. 😁 Because all of my crochet items are donated to friends, family, and organizations that can best make use of them. And Cathy is using them to cheer, warm, and inspire her students! I am absolutely thrilled about that. 🤩 In the snapshot above, Cathy has just opened the box with the gray sister of Sister Shawls .   And below, she is opening the box that contains one of the two Devil'icious pieces. The other sister of Sister Shawls and the other Devil'icious piece went to Inara...
